PR Epoxy Systems is one of the leading manufacturers in its industry. As a result, the company’s global network of connections and buying power allow it to source raw materials at favourable market prices, thereby passing on cost advantages to its customers and clients.

Special Curing Agent Blends:

PR Epoxy Systems curing agents are the result of extensive research and development work, and offer many advantages over those currently available on the market. These curing agents have been blended to offer the best compromise in those areas where a compromise is unavoidable e.g. giving fast cure properties without a prohibitively short ‘pot life’.

The main curing agent blends we produce are:

PR 2: This is a modified aliphatic amine blend and is used as a general purpose curing agent. It gives a good cure at low temperatures and also gives an excellent surface finish and good chemical resistance. It gives excellent resistance to carbonation and bloom and has a convenient loading of 50 PHR, i.e. 50 parts of curing agent per 100 parts of resin. This curing agent is used in several of our standard formulated systems.

PR 5C: Modified Epoxy Resin PR-5C is a low viscosity blend of Bisphenol A and Bisphenol F type epoxy resins modified with a reactive diluent. The product has been designed to be non-crystallizing after prolonged storage at low temperatures and in the presence of mineral fillers. It is therefore of particular interest for the formulation of heavily filled compositions such as resin mortars, grouts and flooring compounds.

PR 10: This is a modified aliphatic amine blend. It gives a fast cure and also gives an excellent cure at low temperatures with a non-greasy surface finish and good chemical resistance. This curing agent is used in several of our fast curing formulated systems;

PR 13: This is a modified cycloaliphatic amine blend and has a 50 PHR loading. It is a general purpose curing agent with very low odour and very good chemical resistance;

PR 34: This is a modified polycyloaliphatic amine based product which gives excellent resistance to water spotting, low temperature cure and chemical resistance;

PR 38: This is a blend of polymeric aliphatic amine, specially developed for the application of water wipeable epoxy grouts.

Details of our other binder systems are available upon request. We are able to modify existing systems or tailor make new systems for specific applications.

Epoxy Resin Based Binder Systems

PR Modified Epoxy Resins : In addition to the standard resins with added diluent we supply two epoxy resins which have been modified further, PR5 and PR5C. Both of these are low viscosity and have low toxicity levels.

PR Epoxy Resin Additive No.1: After extensive research, we have developed a universal additive which can be added to either the resin or the curing agent component of any epoxy resin based system. It contains several elements which together give a wide range of improvements in the properties of a system, i.e. it has good flow promoting properties, it improves de-aerating properties, helps prevent pigment floatation, improves the "wetting out" properties and gives a slight promotion in adhesion.

The main advantage of this one product is that it cuts down the need to use several different additives to achieve all the properties above. It is used in several of our solvent free and solvent based systems to improve their performance.

Epoxy Resin Pigment Pastes

  1. Solid Content : 48.0% - 52.0%
  2. Particle size : 5 HAGMAN Minimum
  3. Viscosity : Variable due to different absorption rates of dry pigments. (Majority of the pigment pastes are pourable)
  4. Carrier : Low viscosity, modified, crystallisation free, bisphenol A/F resin (EEW 182 -192)
  5. Colour : BS 4800 colour range, RAL colour range and any specific customer requirements

The BS 4800 colour chart below can only be used as a guideline of colours available. The accuracy of the colours displayed can not be guaranteed and will vary slightly depending on monitor settings. Other custom made colours are available by special request.
